
Lawn Care Lead
We’re looking for a Lawn Care Lead to take charge of our mowing operations, deliver top-quality service, and help us scale from 2 crews to 5 over the next 2 years (by 2027). This is your chance to join a community-rooted business early and shape its future.
What You’ll Do:

Lead the Mowing Crew: Starting March 31, run a 2 or more-person team through a packed season—spring cleanups (co-leading with our project leader, Tim), dock installations (labor support), mowing routes (May-Oct, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, M-F), dock removals (fall), and leaf cleanups (Nov).

Own the Day-to-Day: Ensure quality work, stick to our pre-set schedule (booked through Halloween), and manage your crew’s pace and performance.

Train new hires and ensure all team members are working in a safe manner providing quality results.

Help to create and reform standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure sustainable growth and continued, replicable quality service.

Understand Housecall Pro: We use Housecall Pro for scheduling, job tracking, and customer communication—you’ll need to learn the app well, but its pretty straight forward and easy to use.

Grow into More: Start with one crew, then take on hiring, training, job estimating, customer interactions, and scheduling as we expand (including winter snow removal).
Who You Are:

Experienced in lawn care (2+ years preferred), with a knack for organization, attention to detail and skilled in leading a small team.

Reliable, physical, and detail-oriented—mowing, cleanups, and docks demand stamina and precision to achieve profitable work.

Somewhat tech-savvy and quick to learn—ready to get fluent in Housecall Pro.

A problem-solver who can handle equipment, weather curveballs, and tight timelines.

Ambitious and eager to grow—ready to step up to manage multiple crews over time.

Local to Kaleva/Bear Lake/Manistee area (or willing to commute and be reliable).

Competitive Pay: $20-$24/hour to start, paired with a second crew member (combined budget of $40/hour—you decide the split with our input). Direct Deposit, biweekly throught Paychex.

Tools Provided: We supply the equipment and are getting very picky about keeping it in great working order. Good running dependable equipment creates efficiency. You are a major part in reporting any issues to keep things running smooth, as well as a part of routine maintenance.
